Donington Park hosted another Bennetts British Superbike Championship race weekend and in all three races held there were three different winners, with Ryan Vickers, Kyle Ryde andJason O’Halloran to be the winners. The title decision were then postponed to Brands Hatch in two weeks’ time.
Sprint Race:
Ryan Vickers claimed a dominant Bennetts British Superbike Championship victory in the BikeSocial Sprint Race at Donington Park as the LAMI OMG Racing Yamaha team’s tyre choice paid off in the wet conditions whilst the leading title contenders had a disastrous opening race.
The Yamaha – LAMI OMG Racing Yamaha rider beat Leon Haslam by 3.742s, while Luke Mossey took the final step of the podium after crossing the finish like 5.332s after the #7. Glenn Irwinn was 23rd and Tommy Bridewell 24th.
Race 2:
Kyle Ryde claimed victory in a dramatic second Bennetts British Superbike Championship race at Donington Park, as the BeerMonster Ducati teammates clashed at Melbourne with Glenn Irwin and Tommy Bridewell crashing out of contention.
After Ryde there was Leon Haslam to take the second place with just 0.224s off as Chris Iddon was third.
Race 3:
Jason O’Halloran returned to winning ways in the final Bennetts British Superbike Championship race of the weekend at Donington Park as he commanded the conditions to take the victory by 6.936s as Leon Haslam and Glenn Irwin had heartbreak with technical problems that sidelined them from the race.
Iddon and Josh Brookes took the last podium places.
As for the title, decisions will take place at Brands Hatch (13 to 15 of october).
