Following an impressive performance in the previous race, Iker Lecuona is buzzing with enthusiasm and is eager to maintain the momentum. Reflecting on his recent success, Lecuona shares, “The race at Aragon was a turning point for me. I remember sharing my elation with my manager on our way to Valencia. Such a weekend was long overdue. The season had its fair share of challenges, from numerous crashes to certain aspects of the race that left me perplexed.”
He continues, “My stellar performance in Australia set high expectations, but the subsequent weekends were a series of struggles. The joy of racing seemed elusive. However, Aragon was different. We made some tweaks to the bike, and the results were evident. Securing three finishes in the top ten and two within the top six was a significant morale booster. It reignited my passion and served as a much-needed source of motivation.”
On the topic of his future plans, Lecuona hints at his inclination towards Honda. “While I’m inclined to continue my journey with Honda, official announcements will be made in due course. I’ve learned to focus my energies on aspects within my control. Concerning matters beyond my reach, like decisions made by third parties, I’ve realized there’s little I can do. It’s best to stay grounded and concentrate on the present,” he concludes with a sense of determination and optimism.
