As the weekend races loom, Michael Ruben Rinaldi shares his thoughts on the competition and his aspirations for the future.
Rinaldi begins, “The absence of overwhelming pressure has been a game-changer for me. It’s allowed me to approach racing with a clearer mind, focusing solely on mastering the bike. I’m in high spirits and am gearing up to give it my all from the get-go on Friday, with hopes of securing a spot on the podium.”
He acknowledges the formidable competition, saying, “The trio – Jonny, Toprak, and Alvaro – have consistently set the bar high over the past seasons. Their prowess on the track makes them challenging contenders. However, being the only racer in two years to have matched their level feels surreal. My ambition is to consistently rival this powerhouse trio, and to do so, we need to double down on our efforts.”
Rinaldi then touches upon his future plans, expressing a desire for a more substantial role in the racing world. “While delivering strong performances is crucial, my plans for 2024 remain uncertain. Several factors influencing this decision are beyond my control. I’m on the lookout for an opportunity that’s not just about securing a seat or a paycheck. At this juncture in my career, I’m seeking a comprehensive proposal that offers robust support from the manufacturer and aligns with my long-term vision.”
He concludes with a sense of determination, “I’m not the young 19-year-old racer anymore. I’m in pursuit of a grand project, ideally spanning two years. It’s not just about making a move; it’s about being part of a larger vision and contributing meaningfully to it.”
