In a MotoGP Catalan GP that was being dominated by Aprilia, Francesco Bagnaia secured the pole position this morning in Barcelona. To achieve this, he surpassed Aleix Espargaró (Aprilia) by 0.104s.
The Italian Ducati rider considers this result to be particularly important, also stating in an interview with the official broadcast that there has been progress compared to yesterday:
– I feel that it’s one of the most important pole positions we did this year, because Aprilia showed to be strong in this track and it was important to start in the front to try to close a bit their pace at the start. But let’s see. This morning we did a step in front and I feel quite comfortable with my bike. They’re still a little step in front in terms of pace, but we are closer.
