Dani Pedrosa completed his second wildcard appearance of the MotoGP season at the San Marino GP. After a good performance at the Spanish GP last April, he was once again in good shape, finishing in fourth place.
The Red Bull KTM test rider even fought for the podium until the final laps but didn’t have the pace to challenge Francesco Bagnaia, who finished third. In any case, Pedrosa achieved an unusual result for wildcard riders, who often participate to test new components on their bikes in a competitive environment.
It’s worth noting that no wildcard rider had achieved such a strong result since the 2018 Valencia GP when Michele Pirro finished fourth, riding a Ducati.
