When Qianjiang, then QJ, presented the project for a V4 engine in the spring, we immediately thought of a new Tornado or at least a sporty Benelli (as we know, the Pesaro brand is Chinese-owned), but the presentation of the Flash V4 600 surprised everyone.
The fact that Qianjiang is Harley-Davidson’s partner in the Asian market and produces the X500 should have tipped us off, and it goes without saying that the novelty is a replica of the H-D Sportster.
So far, the exact displacement isn’t known, and the engine’s performance hasn’t been declared either; we can estimate a power output of around 70 hp, which should displace the 219 kg indicated in the documents submitted (probably dry).
The brake system includes a pair of 300 mm discs with radial-mount calipers, and a single 260 disc, with both 16-inch wheels fitted with 130/90-16, 180/65-16 tires.
The suspension is Marzocchi, with an inverted fork and a pair of rear shock absorbers. The final drive is a toothed belt, just like on the Harley-Davidson.
Other data released so far by QJMotor include a wheelbase of 1,580 millimeters, a seat height of 720 millimeters and nothing else.
The circular instrumentation features a color display and we know that, in addition to the classic screens, it includes a tire pressure display, Bluetooth connectivity and simplified navigation.
