Ai Ogura may be heading to MT Helmets-MSi for the upcoming Moto2 season. The team will take over from the current Pons Wegow Los40, expanding their activities to the intermediate category.
According to SPEEDWEEK.com, Ogura is looking to leave the Idemitsu Honda Team Asia. He had negotiations with Red Bull KTM Ajo, but his contract prevents him from moving to Moto2 teams associated with MotoGP manufacturers. Therefore, Fantic, Yamaha VR46 Master Camp, GasGas Aspar, and Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP are not options either.
The solution appears to be MT Helmets-MSi. Ogura has reportedly received an offer from the team managed by Teo Martín. The Japanese rider brings valuable experience to the team, as he has been in Moto2 since 2021, was the runner-up last year, and has been collecting victories and podiums.
