Nicolas Spinelli made his debut with a win in the MotoE World Championship this Saturday. The HP Pons Los40 rider was the winner of the second race of the San Marino GP at Misano, which was the last race of the season.
After securing the title in the first race, Mattia Casadei (HP Pons Los40) started from pole position and resisted Spinelli to keep the lead in the initial laps. With nothing to lose, Spinelli didn’t give up on fighting for the lead, which he achieved with a overtake on the fourth lap.
Héctor Garzó (Dynavolt Intact GP) was also in contention for the top positions. The Spanish rider tried until the end to challenge Spinelli, but the Italian didn’t yield to the pressure and won with a 0.196s lead. Casadei closed the season with a third-place finish in this race, ahead of Jordi Torres (Openbank Aspar). Andrea Mantovani (RNF MotoE Team) rounded out the top five.
