Marcel Schrötter will continue with MV Agusta Reparto Corse in the next season of the World Supersport Championship. This year, he is in third place in the championship with one round to go.

The German rider made his debut last year as a wildcard and joined full-time this season. He has shown consistent performance and has already been on the podium, although he hasn’t secured any wins yet.

In a press release, Schrötter said: ‘I am very happy and also glad that I can continue with MV Agusta in WorldSSP. Of course, I looked at other options, which is normal, but in the end, MV Agusta and my current team offered me the best package. I also feel that there has been a lot of motivation rising this year, as we have been able to achieve strong results. We also clearly noticed where we still need to catch up compared to other manufacturers and in which areas we need to improve’.

As for his goals, the German rider aims to compete for the championship title: ‘I sense a lot of enthusiasm within the team […] to take the next steps and improve some things. It starts with more tests I asked for and get promised now, as well as further developments to the bike and the material will be increasingly pushed. That also increases my motivation to fight for victories with this package, the bike, and the brand, and hopefully to be able to intervene a bit more in the fight for the title next year, or to fight for the title. That is definitely our goal together’.

Nicolò Bulega is the new World Supersport champion. The victory in the first Portimão race this Saturday allowed the rider who has dominated the season to seal the title with still three races to go.

Despite starting from pole position, Bulega (Aruba.it Ducati) had a slow start and was overtaken by Stefano Manzi (Ten Kate Racing Yamaha). However, he quickly regained the lead in the first corner. In the early laps, Manzi managed to put pressure on his rival, but on the fourth lap, he was passed by Yari Montella (Barni Spark Racing Team/Ducati).

Once in second place, Montella kept up with Bulega and even set a new lap record, but on the seventh lap, he was forced to retire due to a technical issue with his bike. Bulega then had a more comfortable lead, with Manzi more than a second behind. Jorge Navarro (Ten Kate Racing Yamaha) climbed to third place.

The top three positions remained unchanged until the end. Bulega crossed the finish line with a 2.637s gap over Manzi, who managed to distance himself from Navarro after a few laps of pressure. Marcel Schrötter (MV Agusta) finished fourth, winning a hard-fought battle against Valentin Debise (GMT94 Yamaha) and Federico Caricasulo (Althea Racing/Ducati).

The Superbike paddock arrives in Portimão this weekend for a round in which titles can be decided in all categories. For the World Supersport 300 Championship, it’s the end of the season, so the champion will be determined.

In WSBK, Álvaro Bautista (Aruba.it Ducati) leads with a gap of 47 points over Toprak Razgatlioglu (Pata Yamaha). If the Spaniard scores 16 more points than his opponent in Portugal, he will become the champion. Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki) is in third place and can’t go any higher, but he could still be caught by Andrea Locatelli (Pata Yamaha), Axel Bassani (Motocorsa/Ducati), and Michael Ruben Rinaldi (Aruba.it Ducati).

As for WSSP, Nicolò Bulega (Aruba.it Ducati) is in a privileged position to become the champion: he has an 85-point lead over Stefano Manzi (Ten Kate Racing Yamaha), and even if he loses 35 points, he will still seal the title. Marcel Schrötter (MV Agusta), in third place, no longer has a chance to fight for the championship.

WSSP300 is coming to an end, and the battle will be among the top three. Jeffrey Buis (MTM Kawasaki) has a 30-point lead over José Luis Pérez González, so he has a relatively comfortable lead with 50 points at stake. Dirk Geiger (Freudenberg KTM Paligo Racing) is 47 points behind, so once Buis scores at least three points, he will be out of contention.

Nicolò Bulega is on the verge of becoming the Supersport World Champion. This weekend, he won both races at MotorLand Aragón, putting himself in a position to clinch the title in the next round at Portimão.

Yesterday, after securing pole position, the Aruba.it Ducati rider led from start to finish in the first race. Without giving his opponents any chances, he crossed the finish line with a 3.581s lead. The battle for second place was considerably more intense. Marcel Schrötter (MV Agusta) came out on top after overtaking Stefano Manzi (Ten Kate Racing Yamaha) on the 13th lap. The Italian rider lost more positions after running through the gravel and ultimately finished in 11th place, while Yari Montella (Barni Spark Racing Team/Ducati) completed the podium.

Starting from pole position once again, Bulega continued to dominate and led from start to finish in the second race on Sunday. After just one lap, he had a gap of over a second, which then stabilized at around two seconds. Manzi was his main rival throughout the race, finishing 2.160s behind. The #62 had the upper hand in a battle with Federico Caricasulo (Althea Racing/Ducati), but the positions remained stable for most of the race. Bahattin Sofuoglu (MV Agusta) and Schrötter completed the top five.

The World Superbike paddock returns to Spain this weekend for the MotorLand Aragón round. It’s the third-to-last round of the season for WSBK and WSSP, while for WSSP300, it’s the second-to-last.

In WSBK, the premier class, Álvaro Bautista (Aruba.it Ducati) competes on home turf. The Spaniard seeks to defend and extend a 57-point lead over Toprak Razgatlioglu (Pata Yamaha). Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki) is in third place, 177 points behind, and it’s unlikely that he will remain mathematically in the title hunt after Aragon – there will be 124 points left to be awarded after this round.

Nicolò Bulega (Aruba.it Ducati) leads WSSP comfortably and can even clinch the title if he repeats what he has done several times this year and wins both races. Stefano Manzi (Ten Kate Racing Yamaha) is in second place, trailing by 60 points. If this gap widens to over 100 points, Bulega will be the champion. Marcel Schrötter (MV Agusta) is also still in contention.

It’s all up for grabs in WSSP300 with just two rounds to go. Jeffrey Buis (MTM Kawasaki) currently leads, only five points ahead of José Luis Pérez González (Accolade Smrž Racing BGR/Kawasaki). The top five are within just 32 points of each other, demonstrating the close fight in a championship where everything can change in just one round.

Two wins in two races. That’s the tally for Nicolò Bulega in the Magny-Cours round of the World Supersport Championship, as he won the second race of this round on Sunday.

The Italian rider from Aruba.it Ducati started from pole position and kept the lead, gradually pulling away from the rest of the field. Valentin Debise (GMT94 Yamaha) was his main pursuer. Up until a certain point, the Frenchman managed to keep up with Bulega and put pressure on him, but the championship leader ultimately held on to consolidate his race lead.

In the end, Bulega crossed the finish line 1.991s ahead of Debise. The rest of the pack didn’t have the pace to challenge the top two. Stefano Manzi (Ten Kate Racing Yamaha) secured the final step of the podium with little opposition but was 12.441s behind the leader. Marcel Schrötter (MV Agusta) and Niki Tuuli (PTR Triumph) rounded out the top five.

Nicolò Bulega was the winner of the first race at Magny-Cours in the World Supersport Championship. In the race held this afternoon, the Aruba.it Ducati rider led from start to finish.

After keeping the lead at the start, Bulega managed to distance himself from Stefano Manzi (Ten Kate Racing Yamaha), who moved up to second place as early as the second lap.

However, in the final part, Manzi managed to get closer and put some pressure on Bulega. The future World Superbike rider held off his rival and won with a 0.587s gap. Valentin Debise (GMT94 Yamaha) continued his strong performance from Superpole to secure third place – his first podium of the year. Adrián Huertas (MTM Kawasaki) and Niki Tuuli (PTR Triumph) finished fourth and fifth, respectively.

This will be a day that Nicolò Bulega will hardly forget as he was announced as the new Aruba.it Racing – Ducati rider for 2024 onwards, which is a ‘dream coming true’, so the italian rider said.

In a team statement, the future Superbike rider began to speak of how huge such news meant to him: ‘I want to be honest: this is a dream coming true. Racing for an official team is the desire of every rider. Therefore, before I talk about my emotions and expectations, I want to thank Ducati and Aruba.it Racing’.

Bulega also didn’t miss the chance to praise and thank his current team: ‘And I am also extremely grateful for the opportunity I was given already last season by Aruba.it and Feel Racing and especially by Stefano Cecconi, Serafino Foti and Daniele Casolari. They chose me to ride a fantastic Ducati Panigale V2, on which I felt immediately comfortable. I know how important this opportunity is and I will always give my best to improve myself, day after day, with the only goal of getting the best possible results. I say it again: thank you for the trust’.

And ended saying the red outfit makes him proud, while not forgetting about his future teammate:

Thinking about the history of this Team, where great champions have always raced, I feel proud to be able to defend the same colors. Also, I am very happy to be able to share the box with Alvaro Bautista. Having him as a teammate will be a big plus: I will try to absorb every information I can learn from him.
