Honda continues to perform below the desired and expected level, unable to consistently compete for podiums in MotoGP. Marc Márquez is being linked to Gresini, with rumors intensifying after a test in Misano in which significant progress was not seen.
The six-time world champion said in a press conference that the version of the bike he tested is different, but the performance remains the same – pointing out a specific area to improve:
– Of course we have some differences and it’s true that the riding position is different and I feel differently on the bike. But there wasn’t a difference in performance, on the lap time: it was exactly the same. So, it’s there where we need to keep improving, especially the exit of the corner – because on the entry we aren’t bad. But we need to improve in the middle and the exit, that is where the lap time comes in an easier way.
Asked if the Misano test provided him with all the information he needed to decide his future, Márquez stated: ‘My ideas are the same than one month ago, so there are no news at the moment’.
