This weekend, Franco Morbidelli faces is second home round of the season in the MotoGP World Championship – the San Marino GP at Misano. The Monster Energy Yamaha rider is coming off a 14th-place finish in Catalonia and is looking to get back into the top ten, a feat he hasn’t achieved since Assen.
In a press release, the Italian rider shared his expectations for Misano: ‘The Catalan GP on Sunday didn’t go as we had hoped. For the San Marino GP, we’ll still try to improve on Friday and hope for a smooth Saturday and Sunday’.
Morbidelli also spoke about the significance of this round for him: ‘I’m happy that we’re riding in Misano this weekend. It’s my home race, and I know this track very well. I like this circuit a lot, it’s a nice track, and I’m also happy that my family and friends will be there supporting me – so I’m going into this weekend with a positive mindset. We have a lot of work to do, though, so we need to be focused and work step by step to keep improving’.
