Without a place on the grid for 2024, Pol Espargaró is already looking to 2025. The rider was out of GasGas Tech3, being replaced by the rookie Pedro Acosta.
Speaking to DAZN, the experienced Spanish rider said: ‘It’s hard to plan life. Unexpected things always happen. It’s part of life to adapt to all the circumstances of life, and I’m not just referring to competition, but also normal life’.
Espargaró also explained: ‘It is true that there were mistakes within the factory that led to this outcome and could have been avoided, but it is also true that considering the whole situation and the commitment I made to the factory, we had to come to an understanding between the two parties to let young and talented riders like Pedro be part of the team. Not only do I accept this new role, but I am committed to helping them in the future to be competitive. As for my long-term future, I no longer know what to expect’.
At this point, Espargaró is in 23rd place in the championship standings with 12 points.
