Up until qualifying, the MotoGP Indian GP hadn’t any sessions in wet conditions, including the practices and the qualifying. Thus, the riders are not yet familiar with the Buddh International Circuit in these conditions, as the track is on the calendar for the first time.
If the rain continues, there will be an additional free practice session for MotoGP this Saturday. Mike Webb, race director, explained the procedures to the championship’s official website:
– Due to wet conditions at a new venue for MotoGP, if it remains wet 15 minutes after the end of Moto2 Q2, pit lane will open for a 15-minute MotoGP session in wet conditions. Twenty minutes after the end of the MotoGP wet session, pit lane will open for one minute for a quick start procedure for the Tissot Sprint [race].
