China is undeniably one of the leaders when it comes to innovation in electric vehicles, including the fields of cars and motorcycles. This is evident in the continuous stream of new electric vehicles hitting the market, a trend that shows no signs of slowing down.
Among the latest entrants is Pai Mobility, created in 2021 with the ambitious mission of achieving one million global electric vehicle sales per year. Its answer to the electric mobility challenge is the Pai TS3, a new electric scooter designed for young urban riders, which was recently presented at the ANSA International Conference Center in Shanghai.
The Pai TS3 is available in two different trim levels, namely the S and Pro variants. The TS3 is equipped with a robust 15-kilowatt central motor, capable of accelerating from 0 to 50 km/h (31 miles per hour) in just 2.5 seconds and reaching an impressive top speed of 110 km/h. In addition, the TS3 relies on the power of two 72V – 32Ah lithium batteries, guaranteeing drivers a generous maximum range of 150 km.
The Pai TS3 has several notable features. Firstly, its weight is specified at 150 kg, although it is not clear whether this estimate includes the batteries. In addition, the scooter features ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) technology, which alerts the rider to obstacles ahead, such as pedestrians and other vehicles. ADAS is equipped with eight cameras and radar sensors, enabling functions such as adaptive cruise control and collision warning.
Pai Mobility is preparing to introduce its electric scooter to the European market and plans to implement a practical battery exchange system. Customers will have several battery options: they can opt for a simple exchange for a fully charged battery at a cost of €1.60, choose a monthly subscription of €17 or opt for a leasing option with a price of around €1,830 – (lease duration not specified).
In addition, the first 1,000 buyers will benefit from discounts, receive a gift helmet and enjoy a lifetime battery replacement service, all guaranteed with a deposit. For those eager to know the price, the TS3 Pro will be available for €5,699, while the TS3 S will be available for €4,999, as Pai Mobility is turning its attention to the European market, promising more updates in the future.
