Pedro Acosta clearly dominated the second practice session at the Moto2 San Marino Moto2 Grand Prix.
After five different riders took the lead in the first six minutes, Acosta (Red Bull KTM Ajo/Kalex) overtook Filip Salac (QJMotor Gresini/Kalex) to claim the top spot.
The Spanish rider improved his time four more times and never relinquished the first position. He finished with a 0.541s gap over Celestino Vietti (Fantic Racing/Kalex), with Jake Dixon (Inde GasGas Aspar/Kalex) in third. Alonso López (+Ego SpeedUp/Boscoscuro) and Sam Lowes (Elf Marc VDS/Kalex) completed the top five in the session and for the day.
Once again, the second-placed rider in the championship faced some difficulties. Tony Arbolino (Elf Marc VDS/Kalex) finished in a modest 16th place in the second practice session and 18th in the combined standings from both Friday sessions, despite making progress compared to FP1.
