Aleix Espargaró hasn’t had an easy life the last two weeks. After some problems at the Indian Grand Prix, the Aprilia rider was forced to finish the Sprint early yesterday after mechanical failure in his RS-GP.
Aware of this, but also that mathematically the championship remains open, Espargaró said in a debrief that he just needs to rest with his family to recover for what is missing from the calendar:
– It’s been a very complicated two weeks. I’ve struggled a lot these two weeks for various reasons, so now I need to go home to recharge my batteries. We still have some chances to fight for the first place in the championship and I will try.
Still on his dismay and irritation yesterday, #41 stated that it was not just for an isolated reason, but for everything that has happened in recent weeks:
– It wasn’t just yesterday, there were a lot of things during these two weeks. Many, many things. My mistake in qualifying with my team, with my mechanics, then the failure in the India race, yesterday’s failure. I just want to try to go home, recharge the batteries with my family and come back to Indonesia.
