Miguel Oliveira finished the MotoGP Catalan GP sprint race in sixth place, struggling with the wear of the soft front tyre in the final laps – preventing him from retaining the fifth position. This will be something to keep in mind for the main race this afternoon in Barcelona.
Asked if he is worried for the main race due to the tyre drop, the #88 said: ‘I’m not worried, but for sure we’ll need to fix. Otherwise it will be really hard to finish the race considering that we’ll start with even more fuel and we have the double of laps’.
Despite the struggle in yesterday’s sprint race, Oliveira denied to race with a different tyre this Sunday: ‘It’s really hard to go to the Q. The Q is really, really hard. Only if we had like 50ºC track temperature we would do it think. But I don’t think so. It’s not a choice for us’.
