Phillip Island is the next circuit on the MotoGP World Championship calendar, and it’s a track where the rider has particular significance. This was a topic addressed by Miguel Oliveira from the CryptoDATA RNF MotoGP Team.
In his statements to the media, the Almada-born rider commented on how a rider can make a difference on a circuit like the one hosting the Australian GP:
– In my opinion it’s line choice and also how you are able to carry the speed, because it’s a very flowing kind of track. You need to manage a lot the rear tyre, so on accelerations you really need to be very smooth and have the best traction as possible. So, yeah, it’s a track where you can make the difference – with your body, with the way you approach the corners and the lines. It’s one of those tracks where you don’t have a lot of room, it’s very narrow, and of course that makes a big difference.
